While blazing the trails of the cross-Canada tour route with Change Of Heart and pulverizing the ear drums of music nerds for decades with C’mon, Blurtonia, Public Animal and Bionic, Ian Blurton cemented his status as a national treasure long ago. However, it’s the righteous sounds of his new band, backed by members of Blue Rodeo and Daniel Romano and Randy Bachman’s bands, unashamedly tipping the ol’ Padres cap to Budgie, The MC5 and Thin Lizzy, that may necessitate a new edition of the Canrock history books to be written. Espanola is a town at the top of Highway 6 in Southern Ontario, Canada. It is also the name under which I release rock and roll music that I’ve made by myself and with others. It is also the name of the band which represents these musics in live performance. The word is pronounced just as it’s spelled with no accent. Thank you for listening. – Aaron Goldstein
Glenn Milchem (Blue Rodeo, The Swallows) will open the night with a set of solo material.
