8 poets will compete in semi-final action – with the top four poets moving on to Finals, where the Saskatoon Slam Team will be formed to represent at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in Guelph in October! Come on out and support some amazing poets and hear some phenomenal words as the top poets in our city compete.

Our featured poet is Beth Goobie!

Beth Goobie is the author of 25 books, including 3 collections of poetry. Her latest, “breathing at dusk”, just won two Sask Book Awards. She is also an enthusiastic Food Bank volunteer, Tonight It’s Poetry slammer, and a percussionist in a community band.
