We open our evening with a community stage! Please sign up early. Be respectful of time and others by keeping your performance to a maximum of 5 minutes.
Our feature poets this evening are Brendan Flaherty, the festival’s director, and a few past ensemble members! This is a show you don’t want to miss! And, you’ll want tickets to the rest of the festival!
SPAF is a dynamic series of live performances! Grab your smartphone or your wall calendar, and book off May 7th-11th, 2019!
The Saskatoon Poetic Arts Festival is a week-long exploration of the power and potential of spoken word poetry. An ensemble of 10 artists from across Canada will engage in a week of workshops to learn new skills, expand on their existing talents, and collaborate with artists in other fields.
Each night you’ll see the festival ensemble show off new skills and new poetic work, accompanied by a dynamic series of featured artists and marquee performances. It all builds to the Festival Finale, in which the ensemble perform a theatrical poetry show that they create together (all in one day!).
This will be the 3rd annual SPAF, and if anything can be assumed based on the first two years, these shows will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before – and in some cases, unlike anything you’ll ever see again! Join us for #SPAF2019, to WONDER & WITNESS!
